Swimwear for the modest, middle-aged, fashionable woman...

Aisle 12, next to the unicorns.
This is a serious challenge! I went to half a dozen stores, and the choices were: either bikinis (no thank you) or baggy-saggy granny suits with florals like a sofa. I saw one Badgley Mischka suit, pricey but very attractive. I tried it on & apparently it was made for a woman with my measurements, but 6 feet tall. I would have had to get the shoulder straps taken up by 3-4 inches.
I'm considering getting it anyway and doing something to pin the straps.

I have the same problem at about 5'2" and most of that leg. I just bought one of those .. tankini's (?). It's two pieces but you are covered. Lots of the women in water aerobics use them. I found mine at Burlington Coat Factory if you have any nearby.

I would think fixing straps would be pretty easy to do, maybe the store has a service for that? It wouldn't hurt to ask, especially if the suit is pricy!

Something to look forward to! My last suit was 20 on bottom and 18 on top, from Walmart. I wore an old 16 a couple of times toward the end of the summer but I'm ready for something new.

Take a look at Lands' End--they have suits that I think work well.
