Loving the Spirit of Sharing Here

Sunday, February 17, 2013

The greatest gift I have is my intuition, that gut feeling that something is right or wrong. That "Ah Ha" (or "Uh duh!")you get. Sometimes is sneaks in as little gifts from seemingly out of nowhere... stuff just comes across my path. Affirmations that I have been seeing in the blogs of fellow Sparkers - BIGLITTLEWOMAN, NEW_PARADIGM, and FREELADY have been lighting a fire beneath me.

Dealing with GI issues and some pain is very distracting. You all are inspiring me to take action, take control. Sitting mired in my pity pot will not get me out of it. The easy way out of doing nothing is not a way out. I need to make a plan and stick to it if I want to get well.

~INDYGIRL's "Fighting The Blahs and Staying on Track" spoke to me.

"A BIG part of the journey is learning to be like water. Soft and STRONG. Water is so soft you can reach right through it, but it can also be one of the most damaging forces known to mankind. Be like water. Be resilient and ever-changing. Be open to your own emotions and change with them, allowing them time."

"Be strong, yet soft. Remember there is no wagon to fall of of anymore- this is a lifestyle. There is only the journey. Work with it. Learn from it. "

Like ~INDYGIRL I believe that there is some sort of solution out there for my current situation, I just need to be open to it and make it happen.

I'm off to make my plan of action.

I too love the analogy about water. Yes, soft, refreshing, life-giving -- yet a force that, over time, can eat through rock!

You continue, and have always continued, to "monitor and adjust" your program and plan. It's always a work in progress because WE are works in progress. Keep up the good work, Nancy!!

I love your water analogy. I find water soothing but also very powerful. It is life giving and can be life taking too, it must be respected or one can be fooled by its initial appearance. One really cool characteristic about water; it refuses to be stopped, it finds a way through or around whatever is in its path. It takes the most direct path possible.

Only you know if you have been in a pity pot, it doesn't show here. What I have found, when hard things come around, is that it takes time to adjust to the new information. It needs to be digested (no pun intended) and grasped. Once my mind and emotions are wrapped around this "hard thing" then I am ready to go forward.

It sounds like that is where you are, moving forward. I picture you off to make your plan of action. Good for you as you tackle this new obstacle. Oh, and PTL that there is no wagon to fall off. Thank you for that little pearl today. Thank you for speaking your heart today.

Remember back in the day when we would simply eat to eat?? How foolish we were. Now we eat for health, for quality and to sustain our system which seems to evolve as the years fly by. emoticon

Pain is draining. Uncertainty and concern can be paralyzing. You are keeping your focus with so much swirling around you....I am applauding!

I have that exact struggle, of sliding into doing nothing when it seems the easy way out. What you voiced here, that it's not actually a way out at all, is something I needed to hear.

I thank God that we have a mutually encouraging interaction. You were one of the very first people who helped me here on SparkPeople, years ago. My path has been slow and rocky---- and more than once I could have been Spark-martialed for desertion---- but you did not give up on me. Thanks!

I loved that blog from INDYGIRL as well.

I hope you're feeling a bit better. It is so difficult to live life when you have pain or discomfort! But you're moving forward, doing what you need to do to take care of yourself. THAT'S important!

    HUGS sweetie. Take care.
