A New To-Do List Using My Goals:

Sunday, February 17, 2013

We all have to reassess our goals from time to time and we might not be breathing if we don't have some sort of to do list. How to put them together? If my goal is to lose weight, then my planner should include more to-do's that will help me reach that goal! My favourite way to write my list is to have a small, pocket-sized card with a number representing each hour of wakefulness and what I plan to accomplish in each hour. Not every activity takes a full hour, but it gives me a chance to stay on track better than no list and is less tedious than planning every single minute. It allows quite a bit of time for changes in the schedule as it is a very vague guideline. It's also a great way to get a second use out of an old business card that's going for recycling anyway. :) Or holiday card, etc... :) I've even used old receipts! :D You can see mine, at 8:00 am and 7:00 pm, I have two activities - neither one will take a half hour, even and I like that I can get an extra two walks in today! If I didn't plan it out, I'd probably end up staring blankly at my fb page for an extra hour (or two) today. :p

7 breakfast
8 dishes and Spark exercises
9 get ready for church
10 go for a walk
11 church
12 lunch
1 dishes
2 cleaning the kitchen
3 off to visit the grandparents
4 might be a great time to put in an extra walk instead of watching tv!
5 dinner
6 traditional after dinner walk with the in-laws :)
7 reading & Sparking
8 bed time

When I write it down on a card, I will use much less detail than this. :) My traditional Sunday only finds me going for one walk, but as I need to do more walking, this way, I'm already more than just thinking about it! It's in writing!!! :D I hope this helps! :D

Just for fun, here's what my actual card might look like, you can see it's very easy plannig:

7 breakfast
8 dishes, exercise
9 get ready
10 walk
11 church
12 lunch
1 dishes
2 kitchen
3 ma's
4 walk
5 dinner
6 walk
7 read/ spark
8 bed

My first walk ended up being through the grocery store and then up and down the stairs with the groceries. I bought 12 bottles of maple syrup (half price!) and a whole lot of cans of beans, so it was a heavy load! :D If not doing the exact thing on the list, it is only more beneficial to do something BETTER!!! :D
