Physiological frustrations

Sunday, February 17, 2013

I did something to my lower back moving heavy boxes for an attorney at work yesterday. By late in the afternoon I was coping with bouts of pain flowing into my left leg and making it feel as if my knee was going to give out. Pain in my back woke me several times last night and has kept me relatively inactive today. I tried to do my exercise video today, but couldn't do it for the pain. I'm doing my crunches and straight leg raises tonight, the best correcting action for this type of problem, but should have done them for the first time last night or earlier today. Now I'm paying in pain for not doing it sooner.

I get so frustrated when my body fights back, refuses to do what I want. Getting older and having your body fight your intentions is frustrating. I have no patience with these physical issues and resent having to cope with the unpleasant symptoms and the days I have to wait for it to resolve. Now I'm done whining and will go do the exercises and try to get some sleep.

Rats...I hate when my body sez~and you think you're gonna do WHAT?

Back pain is the worst...my DH suffers and it's no fun. Hope you get better soon, have you tried a nice soak in some epsom salts...sometimes that helps.

Hugs to you..mend well...and mend soon. emoticon

your body is the only one you going to have, so you really need to cut it some slack and try to stop forcing it to work beyond what it can manage. ever time you do that, you will cause yourself pain. consider, your body is your house. if you poke holes in the roof every time it leaks when it rains, how long do you think your roof will last.?
