No matter what anyone says, my cooking is excellent, even the smoke alarm seems to be cheering me on!
-- Unknown

(I got married 30 years ago and had a few incidents of the smoke alarm cheering me on! My husband was kind/smart enough to eat it or pretend he was craving a specific meal from a restaurant! I am sure that is one of the reasons I still keep him around!) ;-)

This reminded me of a Vacation we were on once that we stayed in a "Travel Apartment" where you could cook and prepare whole meals, it had a complete kitchen and living room/ dining room as well as the bedroom. The first morning my son, who was in his 20's then, went to cook breakfast, and as he cooked the eggs and bacon, the smoke detector went off and would not stop. When he went to go down the hall to tell the office, he realized all the alarms were going off, and he got really worried it was all his fault. When he finally got to the office and started to apologize and explain he was just cooking breakfast, the clerk started to laugh, and then told him not to worry, they were just doing their bi-annual check of their alarms and that it was not his cooking that set off the alarm!
