FINALLY-waited for this day to come.

Saturday, February 16, 2013

Last November 12th I had the flu despite having had the flu shot. By now I know a number of others in that same situation. I found that bout of flu to be very severe. I decided to attempt to not expose DH to my virus and went to sleep in the other bedroom.

At the end of that week DH had seen a DR. seen a dentist, given antibiotics and on the following Monday he was diagnosed with Shingles in ears, throat and mouth, hence the throat pain and tooth pain it was actually gums that were inflamed. He thought it was tooth ache and just in case he was given antibiotics.

He was waiting to be evaluated for blood work prior to a hip surgery, then he got the flu so we waited till that was resolved.
They gave the go ahead as soon as he was over the flu.
Shingles were still there.
The blood work was done and it was sent out but it took three long weeks for results. Finally he had his date for surgery. January 15th 2013.

By this time we had no Thanksgiving or Christmas with family and then the surgery 70 miles away and DH in hospital, myself in a Hotel room on my own.

No family around.
Just DH and I doing our own thing.

DH came home from the hospital and life was getting back to normal.

We are still in separate rooms and beds.

I had planned to get back to our bed on Valentines Day.
It did not happen but we did have a good day and went out with friends for dinner the first time this year so it was very special.

After much cleaning and rearranging our rugs and furniture today. (They had to be removed and furniture moved to "DH-Proof" not "Kid Proof" the house so he would not bump in to furniture or trip on throw rugs).

I am planning to be in my own bed after this very long time.
We will try this but if I make DH uncomfortable with his still sore hip.

The other bed is ready for me and we will wait a while longer. DH can not move he has a Bi pap machine so it is easier for me to move back.

I am happily off to my bed !!! GOOD NIGHT!!

It does take some time before getting back to "normal". This time can seem to take forever. What a great day it is, when it is here.
