Rambled mess of thoughts...

Saturday, February 16, 2013

Thursday I went to my step class, 20 minutes of step, then ball crunches and push ups and multiple ab and leg exercises....

Friday, I realized my abs were hurting me..which means, holy crap, I have ab muscles! I then completed my allotted 60 minutes of zumba and survived it....

My step class was cancelled this morning, so I decided I would go to the free (score!) body combat class offered...there were 15 of us crammed into this teeny room with us kicking and punching, I'm surprised none of us got hurt...but I sweated away 731 calories...and I mean sweated!

Then, with a quick application of deodorant (yea, I run out of it like crazy lately) I was ready for my super bouncy zumba class where I sweated some more and burned off another 700 calories...

That being said, I have become a super sweater! My shirt was soaked after my two hour workout and I loved it! I drenched my wash cloth to wipe my face and I just couldn't stop sweating! Woo hoo for becoming a sweater!

Surprisingly, I have found out some very important things about myself...

I have a strong love of apples and cinnamon and it is very hard to not be able to eat more than just three a day...who knew I would be addicted to something remotely healthy?

I have a collarbone! Okay, not like when sitting, but I can finally feel it when I put my hand on it. And if I arch my shoulders some, I can see it! Which is completely new because, well, it's always been covered by fat...

My bruise from giving blood has expanded to cover my whole inner elbow and has turned this dark purple in the center and this greenish blue on the outside..kinda icky looking, good thing I can wear long sleeves and sweaters to save everyone from looking at it...

I am getting stronger! In body combat, there is this thing where you lay down on. The floor and stretch out. Then you bring our arms towards your feet and your feet up towards your head and cross int he middle, the slowly bring them down. The first time I did that, I couldn't do them together and I had to stop in between. This time, I could do most of them and actually do them. I felt my ab muscles on fire when i was doing these..but I did almost all of them.

I have also been wondering why the fat on the sides of my stomach has been's definitely not the muscles, it is the fat...well, idiot as I was...was practicing my body combat moves In the mirror, I realized that my fat little elbows rested their fat little bones on the fat little pouches that stick out on the each time I moved for a punch and came back in guard stance, I would hit the sides of my stomach.. scale practically said I love you this morning to me when it told me I weighed 200.4 ...umm, really? That's like, the lowest I've been since 7th grade...I am dying to get to below 200 but, I will gladly take this, because seriously? 200.4

That being said, I have to sadly admit my body fat is at 42%. I know I need to build muscle to change it. I know I need to strength train to build muscle. I know I need to join a gym to strength train. I cannot make a decision for my life.

We have three gyms in our area..they are all small gym so memberships are limited and pricy. The gym I go to zumba at is $50 a month for unlimited zumba and gym membership, but the gym is small. The other gym is slightly bigger with a cost of 24 but no zumba. The other gym has the same basic plan and is even smaller. I know I should pay the $50 and do that deal. I like zumba, I want. To keep doing zumba even if or as I am why do I have so many issues committing to anything? I have no flippen clue. But then again, I have issues when I spend any money. I am cheap. I will talk myself out of a shirt or a water bottle or anything because I don't really need it, I might like something slightly better, what if I don't like it, etc...I have literally put a whole cartload of stuff back. Why am I so indecisive? No one else in my family has this issue, someone just decide for me..that's what I need. I need someone to simply tell me what to do...

Have you tried to bargain with the gym you like, asked if they had specials or anything? Maybe you can get them down. But it doesn't seem to make sense to go to one of the others when you like Zumba so much! Keep up the great work!

That is a lot of great exercise! Congratulations on making your sweat cry. I too am cheap and hate to commit to a contract to a gym. I hope you pick one if you want to go to one. Good luck.

    WooHoo for you!!!!
And if you want Zumba, and it helps you move and exercise... and if it will fit into your budget, I say go for your Zumba!
But Lynna is correct, try and see if you can find coupons or discounts for the gym you want.
    Keep it up!

Awesome! Keep up the great work! I'll be right there with you when I get this knee healed. BTW, putting ice on the needle stick site after donating helps decrease the bruising. Good for you for giving blood! Have a super day and keep Sparking! emoticon
