I have spent the past two days exploring SparkPeople and figuring things out. So much motivation and so many wonderful tracking tools! Love it! A little overwhelmed with all there is to acclimate to, but I know given time and persistence I'll figure it all out.
A little background info on me: I was a dancer for 25 years, but was sidelined with a back injury about eight years resulting in a period of convalescence that lasted about a year and a half. During that time and the year after I packed on 100 extra pounds - going from uber fit, to super fat and unhealthy. I am now, thankfully, back to the point that I can workout, and dance, again. And I am ready to make some major changes.
Two months ago I started a new weight loss program and did great, losing 17 pounds in 6 weeks, but then I went off plan and have struggled to get back on ever since. I've even been afraid to get back on the scales because I'm afraid I've gained back all I've lost.
But I know that in order to release the excess weight and get truly fit again I am going to have to eat clean and workout consistently, so I am committed to a new beginning! I'm setting a new start date for Monday - I know, I know, always waiting til Monday, LOL, but I want to get to the grocery store tomorrow and plan and prep some meals in advance to make things easier. So it's back to clean eats and my P90X - although I saw some great ab videos here in the video section of SP that I'm excited to give a go.
My plan is to make SP check-ins a morning and evening ritual, so I will attempt to update my blog as I progress.
Would love to hear from other members on their favorite aspects of SparkPeople, and of course motivation and health tips are always welcomed!
