If you missed my last blog, I have decided to start eliminating wheat products from my life. Since this decision coincided with Lent, it's really good timing to try something new.
My first realization: this is hard! I had to settle for limiting wheat products to just one meal per day. I've been eating a lot of Greek yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, veggies...yeah, I'm a bit limited. But I'm starting to branch out.
Today's full Wheat-Free Day's menu:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar
Lunch: Blueberry/banana/spinach smoothie with Greek yogurt
Dinner: Sauteed chicken, broccoli and buckwheat groats (allowed) made with chicken broth
The interesting thing is that I'm still full from dinner...It's been 2 hours. This is my normal binge-snacking time. And yet -- I'm not hungry. Hmmm...Three cheers for buckwheat groats!
I'm really intrigued. Will this actually work?
