I know I've spent some time away and have not been too active on the site for about a month. I have not given up trying to get healthier. I've just been super busy trying to make sure I learn all the ins and outs of my job. This has been stressful. Now that I'm finally getting into a groove, I feel it's time to come back to this site where I've found so much support and inspiration to get healthy. I know that since I haven't been on the site I haven't been eating to healthy even though I've tried. Despite that, I have lost around 5 inches and am back to where I was before starting on Sparkpeople. Let me explain... I had started to gain weight and inches closer to Christmas. I went shopping with my first 2 paychecks from my new job and had to go up to a size 26 pants and a 2x shirt. To some this may sound small but I haven't had to wear a 2x shirt since 2008 and I haven't been in a size 26 pant since 2010. Maybe now you can see my dismay at this. Well, I bought the 2 new pairs of jeans plus a new shirt to reward myself for getting a new job, and because I was in desperate need of pants. Not even 2 weeks later my new jeans start slipping off of me as I walk. That started 4 weeks ago. Now I have to pull them up every 4-5 steps. Normally I would be happy about this but this amount of sudden weight and inches loss concerns me. I am kind of glad to say I fit back into a size 22-24 right now but it's still inconvenient that I don't have the money for more new jeans. Instead of sucking my stomach in when walking or standing, which by the way is a great abs workout, I'm pushing my stomach out in hopes of keeping up my pants. Now there are some of you that ask "why not just wear a belt?". Good question. I don't wear belts because they always are too big, or too small, or if they happen to fit, I'm allergic to the metal on the buckle. Belts are not my friends. Well, I'm done with my rant. Glad to be back on here!
