Dinner spoiled!

Well, here is one way I won't be cutting back on fat! I happen to really like a little tartar sauce on my fish. Not all the time, but more often than not. So tonight I tried some fat free tartar sauce with my salmon. To my taste buds, it was utterly vile. So, it's back to full fat, but measured carefully, and perhaps less often.

    I applaud you for trying the alternative, but really support your refusal to eat something that tastes nasty just because it's supposedly healthier for you. I'm the same way, jus much more belligerent about it emoticon

So, keep up the good work, measure and track the foods you like. Life is too short to eat gross stuff!

    I felt the same way about blue cheese dressing. And to my joy, I finally discovered a low fat version....the only one available and to me, it tastes just as good. But before it was available...I ate the full fat kind just because I loved it.

    I am a firm believer in not giving up your favorites, just eat it in small portions and not too often, I will not give up butter, but it is a special treat,

    I love tarter sauce too but I found that I could substitute it with relish only. It may not be as satisfying but it has worked for me and I've never looked back. If you must have tarter sauce just measure it so you can accurately track it and work it into your dinner. no worries!

    It does seem like sometimes it is better to eat the real thing instead of swapping and feeling like you missed out. I am that way with mayo.....only true Hellman's will do!!! So, break out the measuring spoons and enjoy what you eat.

I think you are smart to go with what is best for you.
