I started this journey (according to Sparkpeople) sometime in 2009. At that point, I weighed, if memory serves, somewhere around 227 pounds. Throughout most of my life, I was under the assumption that I somehow possessed a superhuman metabolism, and that no mater what I consumed, there would be no consequences, because my body would somehow magically take care of itself. This was simply not true (ya think?). So my girlfriend turned me onto this website, and we started our collective healthy lifestyle journeys together. After a period of time (I don't properly recollect) I had managed to drop a whopping 30 pounds. Which, by nearly any normal standards, was an impressive achievement. So what happened? I don't rightly know. Complacency? Perhaps. Boredom? Maybe. A combination of the two seems most likely. So then I started Weight Watchers, after ballooning back up to to 219 pounds. On that program, I lost all the weight again, and then some. My low weight was a very nice 186 pounds. But again, something ceased to "click" for me. After gaining back 6 pounds, then being stuck roundabout that weight for nearly a full year, I'm back. And this time, I intend to finish the job.
