The Thrill of Victory Followed by the Agony of Defeat!

Saturday, February 16, 2013

What a day! I was so proud of myself just an hour ago. I fancied a fastnacht on "Fat Tuesday" but alas, did not get one. So when I went to our local grocery store a bit ago and saw fastnachts being sold, I grab a package. Then I got to thinking - hey I only wanted ONE and there are a dozen here! Knowing me and my lack of portion control, I put them back and did not buy them. Hooray!

While I was gone, my bundt pound cake was baking in the oven for tomorrow's dinner for company. I had a strategy for that - eat a piece and send the rest home with my guests. Much to my dismay, the cake STUCK to the pan. I tried every trick I knew of to un-stick it - all to no avail. Ugly pieces of cake everywhere and the squirrels just got an expensive little treat - but NOT before I grabbed a hunk and angrily stuffed it in my mouth! Aggggghhhhhhhhhhh!

Great job throwing most to the squirrels. That to me was even better than resisting at the shop (and that was good!) as it was very immediate as in it was there, you were alone and I am sure the smell was nice even if it didn't look great!
