all dolled up

Saturday, February 16, 2013

here is a project I was working on for my red hat group and this was the inspiration...souvenirs I got decades ago at Disneyland near the IT'S A SMALL WORLD ride, I would get 1 each visit (I had 4 but lost one)

I got hubby making the wooden forms and here is what he started with

using his lathe and the dolls as a guide he made every one of them for me like this on his lathe

then they were ready to get the head and necks taped off and the bodies got a base coat of purple

then it was my turn to paint the heads flesh color and paint hair and make faces

then came the hard part, adding accessories to make them all (27 of them) look different and unique

this took the longest time because I had to use my CREATIVE juices and they kept drying up emoticon but I got the job done finally

they will have their debut at the High Tea in May
