Hi, it's me again

Saturday, February 16, 2013

yep, just wanted to say "HI", (P.S. I did write this on the Saturday... but send it just after midnight) so I did... I think I'm really, really , really (really, really REALLY) tired and I should go to bed, yet there is a cake in the oven which needs to finish baking...

So, obviously we didn't go camping, and of course the weather was absolutely beautiful today (last night though it was quite cold, so I'm glad we didn't go... I'm a warm weather camper, boring, I know).

Last night my friend from Austria made Tiramisu for tonight's dinner. I never really fancied or got excited about Tiramisu, mainly due to the fact that coffee is involved... and that it is rather... uhm, rich. She really wants to cook now and then and do things, which is rather difficult for me... she's skinny and can eat like a horse, I'm not and I can't... and most likely never will be able (to eat like a horse I mean, okay I physically CAN eat like a horse, but I don't WANT to... ou, you get my meaning, right?). She doesn't have to think about things like butter or mascapone or cream.... but I have to... anyways, even though I was never excited about tiramiso I said I'd give it a go. So all day, I planned ahead and tried to eat small healthy portions... unfortunately we had piglets for brekki... not actual piglets, but something we call piglets and normal human beings call "pikelets", thanks to me not being able to read properly we started calling them piglets in our family, and LOVE calling them this as well. For you none-Aussies out there piglets (aka pikelets) are basically mini pancakes. My 4 year old son ate 14 of them. My 2 year old ate 10, and I controlled myself and ate 7.

As we planned to be out all day we packed a picnic lunch and I chose to eat a healthy salad. We went to Denmark (no, not Europe Denmark, but Denmark in Western Australia) to an Alpaca farm. The kiddos LOOOOOOOOOVED it. I mean WHO wouldn't love this stunning beauty with those lovely teeth????

Or this native Aussie fellow, he was eager for some food

And our kids loved feeding the animals

After the farm we went for a swim. By that time though the kids were a bit on the cranky side of life... and so was mum. Luckily we all slept on the way back home, except hubby that is, he had to drive.

At home that tiramiu was waiting in the fridge. And it was just plain FABULOUS unfortunately. Unfortunately, because I almost coudn;t control myself and ate more than I wanted, but over all I think I did well.

So, now off to bed, night night

love the photos. Those alpacas are so cute. Sometimes life does get in the way but when your visitors are gone you can get back to normal.
