need help: what do I cook?

I have been eating processed foods and restaurant food for the past week and a half and my body is craving real food. The problem is that I am mentally spent and have no idea what to make. My creativity is at zero.

It is almost time to go to Zumba and I have no energy after working so late last night but I am going to go anyway. I may not put in another 30 minutes afterwards like I usually do but oh well.

Anywho, I am going to get up. Have a fab day Sparklers!

    Glad you found something to cook. My go to is always chicken and something. Sometimes a grilled chicken breast over whole grain rice, with some salsa. It's yummy and quick. I wasn't feeling like cooking last week so I made a crockpot of chicken dumplings. I made it low sodium and it makes alot so I can freeze it and have my own t.v dinner when I want it.

    I ended up making chicken breasts stuffed with mozzarella and basil, roasted potatoes and broccoli. Derrell loved it!

    Whole wheat spaghetti is a good one. You can put a little sauce on it or just a little parmesian cheese. I love chicken, so I eat it quite often. We also keep those Gorton's grilled fish in the freezer. We've tried just about all of them and they all are good. They are microwavable and are yummy on a bed of spinach or lettuce. My kids love hard boiled eggs or eggs cooked in the microwave. We also keep Muscle Milk light on hand in case we are in a real hurry! Good luck! emoticon

    There are some great suggestions can never go wrong with chicken breast and some veggies...I commend you for going to Zumba as could have easily just decided to count this as your "rest" day.... emoticon

    Easy peasy:
    Microwaved sweet potato
    PB+banana sandwich
    protein smoothie
    nuke a bag of SteamFresh veggies and toss with whatever is leftover in the fridge or put it in broth with cooked chicken

    I can usually find tons of mindless, easy, healthy foods just by rummaging through the fridge or freezer. Of course, I have no problem with eating a whole bag of veggies for dinner if I'm desperate and too tired to mix anything with it.

    My mom cooks crab/ mixed veggies-- the crab meat (real thing, of course!) makes the veggies taste better, and the whole thing is amazing. You can make it w/ rice or just eat it as is!

    I have found if I plan out my meals and write it down it helps. here is what I do:

    I Know that I'm to eat more chicken, fish, and turkey, and less beef.

    Monday Wednesday Friday chicken / turkey

    Tuesday Thursday fish

    Saturday turkey (100 % gound breast)

    Sunday beef

    Then the following week I would change it

    Monday Wednesday Friday fish

    Tuesday Thursday chicken /turkey

    Saturday pork

    Sunday have a healthy meal from the crookpot

    You can rotate to fit your taste I precook my chicken and fish on my george forman grill.

    There are some awesome recipes if you browse through the spark recipes. We have tried a few of them. I'm not a very good cook so I pick the easy ones. Good luck!
