5k My Way -- Saturday Surprise!

My original plan when I started on Monday was to take the weekend off and restart with J on Monday. Slept in till 7 this morning and got up to do some laundry and dawdle about the house. Somehow, waiting for the washer to finish was just too good a thing to waste, so out the door I went. Didn't have a distance in mind, but a destination. I would normally have made this trip on the way to somewhere else, and driven.

Out the door I went, pushing for a pace that would be a little challenging, but not more than i could handle. I walked just under 1.5 miles, triple my training distance and just a bit off my 1/2 mile pace. What a rush! Gimpy knee and everything.

I owe it all to a sparkpeople article I didn't actually read. The headline about a walker who hadn't missed a day in a number of years got me to thinking that there was no real advantage to taking a day off. Just broken momentum.

Whatever you're doing, keep at it. YOU CAN DO IT!!
