Shoulda when I coulda!

Saturday, February 16, 2013

Should have run a couple of times last week. Before I turned my ankle yesterday. Now it'll be a few days to a week till I *can* run again. Unloading some chairs from the van. Stepped on a bit of ice on the driveway, staggered and went down. Right ankle went completely u-shaped, or that's what it felt like. Nothing snapped and it's only somewhat swollen today, only slightly discoloured where a spat would cover the outside of the foot. Only slightly painful to walk on. Only a constant reminder *not* to procrastinate over exercise or anything else for that matter. Strike when the iron is hot, make hay when the sun shines and all those truisms.

Oh, Conan! 66 years old and still learning the hard way! tsk, tsk.

Maybe you shoulda when you coulda but then again it makes me shudder to think what could have happened if you had hit that ice at running speed. Maybe it was good that you didn't go running on that ice! I'm glad for you that nothing was broken but as active as you are I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for you... wishing you a speedy recovery!

I understand! At 57 I have to watch where I step more and more. Hope your ankle heals fast!

Darn ice. Glad you didn't get knocked silly. Hope you're back to 100% in record time.

Ouch! My sympathy to you, wishing a quick recovery. Recovery takes longer as we've gotten older.

    I'm glad it wasn't worse!
Don't push your recovery too much, otherwise you will be out for longer!
