A Sad Day

Friday, February 15, 2013

On Tuesday morning this week, my sister passed away. She had thyroid cancer that had metastasized to her brain. She did not linger and the disease spread very quickly. It made me think about how I make excuses for doing things...I say that tomorrow is a better day to start. Some day I will no longer have any tomorrows. I can not predict how long my life will be, so it is important to do what I can while I am here. I pray that God will teach me how to give up my procrastination and to make today the best time to do whatever needs to be done.

Lifting you up in prayer that your grief will ease and you will only remember the happy times with your sister. May God bless you and your family during this sad time. Take care! Hugz, Sharon

My deepest sympathies. Stories like this remind me to "live each day as if it's your last" because you never know what's in store for you. Thinking of you and sending hugs xx

emoticon Enjoy a great big ice cream cone, flavor of your choice but I recommend strawberry. I'm sure this will make you feel better. Once I thought cigarettes were the answer, now I know it is food because we can roll around and cry, scream or do whatever we feel we need to and it never talks back and when we feel better we can once again give it up. I have had so many losses over the years and each one has impacted me differentally so it is difficult to say anything except I am so sorry and I am here for you whenever you need me. emoticon emoticon emoticon

You are right that we never know when or how much time we have. Many would do things differently if we did. My prayers are with you at this sad time. emoticon emoticon

I am so sorry to hear your sister lost her battle with cancer. You are likely in a very hurting zone at the moment and I can empathize with you on this one having lost both my parents and other loved ones in my life thus far. I hope this will give you the strength you need to forge forward with your quest to get healthier and stronger and to lose the excess weight you (and more of us) carry with us. I was at weight watchers earlier today (having just returned to once again begin my fight for my own well being two weeks earlier) and today I saw (and felt) what a pound of fat is. Trust me it is not nice to think I am carrying this around and to think that it is clogging up arteries and the whole gamut. It had quite an affect on me and cemented the idea of gaining muscle to help burn off he fat. So don't lose your concentration and ask for God's help to keep you focused. You certainly are at the right place to gain insight into the many strategies to overcome the perils of excess weight and travelling from unfit to fit. My most sincere condolences on the passing of your sister. Nan Clarke emoticon emoticon
