Well. I like it here, I really do. I am settled into the new apartment, minus a few boxes *cough*. I am learning to love the germ, I mean the gym. I haven't taken the opportunity to enjoy the free group classes my apt complex offers, yet. I miss my friends... I miss my workout buddies. I dont know what I am doing wrong but I just cant seem to find my new partners in crime and fitness. I am kinda stressing over it. This city is so big and I want someone near by. I am only a mile from reliant near braesbuoy. Oh and it isnt just me, Calissa(3) needs a little friend too. Oh sigh, in the big picture of life its nothing but right now, fail.

Edit: Ive been in H-town for a whopping 2 months. &&I actually dont feel a NEED for new friends, as I love my old ones, but I know it is HEALTHY to have a social life outside of texting and the internet.

It takes a while to settle in. Stay busy, get involved with new projects, you'll start to meet interesting people. And be friendly - you might have to make the first move to initiate a friendship.

I moved away from Houston about a year ago. I miss it and my friends. I now live in a town of 8000 people! Huge shock! I have a sparkfriend on here who is near downtown. Courts42 is her username. Hope things get better there!

I know you are in Houston. How far from the Woodlands (roughly) are you? I know of a great gymnastics facility that does really well with young kids and the parents are usually really friendly. It is a franchise so it may be a little expensive for you. The classes for 3 yr olds run about $60/month.
Check out the park, try a dance class for your little one. Rec centers usually offer classes for young ones at a relatively low pricce. Great way for you to meet othere parents too.
I would volunteer to be a workout buddy if I wasn't in Arlington. But hey, if my daughter goes to Karolyi's again this summer we may be able to get a workout in.
Best of luck.

Hey, I really wish I could help you out - but I live in Scotland which is kind of far away... You don't say how long you have been in your new place, but I'm sure you will find people to commit fitness with, and have fun with - just hang in there. Maybe you could pick out things you and your daughter like doing, and see if you can make new friends in those activities. Try to give yourself a break, take your time, and enjoy the peace before your life gets filled up with the fun and frolics of a full social life! Be kind to yourself honey. emoticon emoticon
