Up, down, up

This was a CRAZY week. Lots of ups and downs. Ups were a wonderful Valentine's Day and a general feeling of contentment. Downs were the unexpected death of a family member who never let anyone know he was sick and stress surrounding the blizzard and DH's work. My weight has been on a roller coaster in the last week - I think (and hope) - mostly because of water retention due to poor eating/drinking choices. I breathed a sigh of relief when I dipped below goal yesterday morning and went ahead with my planned splurge dinner for Valentine's Day. My weight was back up this morning but not horribly so. I need to keep an eye my eating choices for a bit, I think.... especially since next week is February break which I usually find quite stressful.

Fitness is going very well. My lean body mass is over 38% on a regular basis which I am very happy about. Body fat is right around 20% which, when I'm not retaining water, looks really good on me. I'm enjoying my heavy lifting workouts but skipping more of them than I'd like. I missed last Friday due to the blizzard and didn't do anything at home to replace it. I missed this Wednesday due to a day at Children's with my daughter (routine stuff) and didn't do anything to replace it. I justified both by saying that I run 3-4 miles AND do a Centergy class on Thursdays and that's 2 workouts but, the fact is, that I usually do that AND workout every other weekday. So... keeping an eye on that too.

The house is doing GREAT. I love having a clean house. We had the best Valentine's Day and part of the joy was that the the house is so clean that the background for pictures is 'perfect' (I hate a picture spoiled by clutter) and I'm so on top of the kitchen that it's easy to clean as I go now.

We're on February break here. DH and I do session 3 of 4 for our wine making tomorrow and we're going out to dinner at a very cool sounding restaurant after. We're taking the kids to IKEA on Sunday to pick out something funky for their rooms. Not sure what we'll do on Monday but DH is off so it would be nice to do something. Then Friday we have a day in Boston (so, yes, another skipped workout) with some fun and some medical stuff. In between my son needs work on his science fair project and hopefully we'll all get some good workouts in. The kids have been slacking worse than I have been! No clue at all about next weekend.... hopefully something fun with the kids.

    So, share what it is that your doing to get the house in order, I can only imagine the peace that would bring.

    My strength training workouts always seem to be 'skipped' sessions. I don't know why, since I enjoy them. It may simply be a timing issue.
