Breaking the Cycle

It is time for me to lose the excuses. After spending my teenage years constantly active with dance, gymnastics, etc. I went to college and gained the Freshman 15lbs...although for me it was more like the Freshman 30+lbs! I have been struggling with my weight ever since. In the past 4 years, I have had two beautiful little boys. They are my world. After the birth of my second son in 2011, I started a new commitment to my fitness. I want to be able to keep up with my family for the long haul. I had begun running and doing the Insanity program. Then, as they say, 'life happens'. After having several weeks of continuing issues with my back, x-rays showed I was going to need back surgery. It was devastating. My work outs were derailed as well as my motivation. However, after several rods and screws and a much longer than expected recovery I am back with a renewed sense of purpose. It is time to lose the excuses and become the healthiest version of myself for both me and my family.

I have a long way to go to reach my ultimate fitness goals but I'm tired of starting over. I have joined the Get In Shape Girl's team and I hope that this will finally be what I need to create the new me! I hope to find some friends in this community that will join me in this journey so that we can motivate each other!
