Happy Friday Everyone! Hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine’s Day with your loved ones. Mine sure was.

I gotta tell you I have found me a keeper. I mean I knew this before. This boy is the kind of boy who pays attention to things and will surprise you for no reason. One day he came over with this sweatshirt that I really wanted and gave it to me for no reason.. Ok maybe the reason was I was sick and he wanted to cheer me up but that is still super sweet. This is the boy who I watched his dog and I walked in to flowers and the sweetest card I have ever gotten. He’ll bring over my favorite candy just because he knows I like it and we’re gonna watch a movie. Or make me dinner or buy my wine when he doesn’t like wine at all but knows I do. He’s just great.

We’ve had a few growing pains lately so I don’t know that I was expecting much for Valentine’s Day. There were some things we had to hash out to get us back on the same page and it came to a head on Tuesday night. We had been texting about it since Sunday and we just needed that face to face actual human conversation to get back to where we needed to be. Which has been sad because we had the best time in Mexico together and I don’t like not getting along with him. Seriously, if you wanna have a good time, take Andrew with you on vacation. It was awesome. But we talked things through and it’s all good now. But still it didn’t feel like the best timing when Valentine’s Day was coming up.

So he first gives me a funny card and a little stuff animal. You know one of those TY ones with the big eyes. Pretty cute, like the puppy he gave me last Valentine’s Day. Then he asks if I was hungry and opens the oven. He drove 45 min each way (to where I grew up) and got my favorite pizza. Are you serious?! Who does that? The sweetest boy in the world, that’s who! Oh and he gave me an Iowa State T-shirt, which of course I love. Oh and chocolate cake! A small one so we didn’t eat too much but it was really good. We had the best evening. We watched our Thursday night NBC TV shows and snuggled and it was great.

I was in such a good mood from it all I woke up early and worked out this morning! I think it was what I needed to recharge the funk I’ve been in. I think it is just amazing when you find that person who not only tells you that they love you but shows you. That person who pays attention to what you say and what you want and does those little things for you to show that they care about you. We have our issues but I know no matter what that he is in this with me and that I won’t fight those issues alone. It’s great.

So today I’m in a stellar mood and I hope you are too. If for any other reason but that today is a new day and a new chance to make your life what you want to be. Today I’m choosing to be happy. Sure it is easier to choose that today because of all the happiness I have felt since last night but it’s still the choice I’m making. Some days it’s an easier choice then other days but I hope today you choose it too. And if you are struggling…
