February 15, 2013 TIME OUT FOR CAREER

We can be someone who loves their line of work and thrives on the job or we can be someone who just goes to work and doesn’t enjoy what they do. When we take time out for our career and think about what it is we really want to do in life that is both pleasing to God and will help us to make a living, we will find ourselves more productive and happy. God wants us to enjoy what we do and serve Him in the vocation we are called in no matter what it is we are doing.

Colossians 3:23 “Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, You know how we stay busy all day. You know what we do in our line of work. We know there are opportunities for us to serve You and help others in all types of work. Show us today how to enjoy our jobs, work as if we are working for You and give You all the glory. Thank You for the jobs we have, whether they are big or small. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Know that whatever you do, either at home or work, You have a difference to make for God and for others.

God wants us to work hard for Him and not man.

Our work is a part of who we are. Doing a good job at what we do requires us to be focused, honest, responsible and to be sure we are working for God.

2 Timothy 2:15 “Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.” (NLT)

We must learn to find the joy and good in everything we do; for what we do, we do it unto Jesus Christ Himself. That's the secret to happiness. God Bless YOU, FRANCES! Vic.
