New Eyeballs

I heard about the world-wide women's demonstration ,Feb 14, "Stand up and Dance" to draw attention to the fact that 1 out of 3 women will be assaulted in their lifetimes. My first thought was I should have told someone in the university dance department where I work about it. It would have been something really special for that group.
My second thought was...I..could help organize something on campus. This is beginning to change my life. I´m not losing any weight, but I'm going to an aerobics class and did a short workout video the other day just to blow off some steam. And never, never, never have I thought of myself as someone who could actually put good ideas into action. I have plenty of good ideas but not the confidence to "give them legs".

In honor of Valentine's Day, I want to thank my husband who drives me to aerobics everytime I go, no matter how tired he is, and who insisted I sign up in the first place. He wisely made me pay for it because I'm too cheap to waste the money, so I keep going. He's definitely one of the good guys.

I had not heard of Stand Up and Dance either - I have seen Take Back the Night Rallys and other things of that sort. I used to work with the women's group on campus when I was an adult student at 3 different colleges. I heard many stories much like yours. Your growth is an amazing testament to the POWER of LOVING YOURSELF enough to RESPECT and forgive yourself. Weight is NOT who you are - as you do these other wonderful things, your weight will follow you right out the door.

Glad you have a very supportive husband.

When we have good ideas; often we have to get out of our comfort zones to try them out! Usually we are glad we did.
I usually pray about it several times and if I still feel strong about it; I ask God for HIs courage. Usually I am overwhelmed with the results.
