I never thought my body would respond to eating real foods this way. I have more energy, and have shed 7 of the 12 pounds I was looking to lose in just 6 weeks. I heart spark people!
I've dieted for my whole life but this time I really don't feel like I am even on a diet. The combination of unprocessed foods (ingredients I don't understand, no thanks!), little to no added sugars, lowering starch intake and ditching the no-fat foods I was eating, has really done me wonders. Adding 2% milk back into my diet I feel has probably also helped, but since there have been so many other changes I couldn't really say.
In February my calorie eating range was increased due to all the exercise I was doing and it has really sped up my weight loss. So many things about eating right are counterintuitive.
And now, after 2+ feet of snow have been dumped in the area, I hear the birds chirping outside for the first time today. Maybe its because I usually leave before dawn and they are still sleeping, but I am taking it as a sign of spring!
Today I have to be downtown (Boston) all day - I will bring a bunch of healthy snacks but this lunch and dinner will be a challenge! My husband and I are going out to dinner for Valentine's tonight but I figure a lot of people would have waited until Friday also...since we don't have a reservation anywhere it may be difficult to find a place. We might head back to the burbs anyway - I'm in business dress, he's wearing jeans & a patriot's shirt LOL.
