No Paparazzi Please

Thursday, February 14, 2013

I was assisting at Zumba again tonight when the instructor started to yell "No pictures!" I look over and two teen age girls are taking pictures with a cell phone. The instructor gestures to me and says "the camera"! So I went out to talk to them. By the time I got close, the girls had high-tailed it out of there. I didn't want to chase them down the hall and wasn't quite sure what I'd do or say if I did catch up with them since this issue was a new one on me. I did find out that the gym's official policy is no cameras for privacy reasons so now I know what I can enforce.

I would think most gyms or Y''s have a no picture policy unless they have permission from whom they want to photo---and as for me, I would not approve photos.

Wow, how inappropriate for them to take photos without permission. Our gym also has a no camera policy, plus no cell phone usage in most areas (because the phones also have cameras). In some gyms, there have been problems with people taking photos in the locker room. I enjoy Zumba but I would hate for photos of me to be posted or shared without my permission!
