Week 2 Aspire to Inspire BSG Challenge Blog - Roses Team

Thursday, February 14, 2013

This week's blog assignment was to tell what my ideal Valentine's Day would consist of. If I could go anywhere, where would it be, what would my meal be, and what would my gift be?

Well, as I have grown and matured, I have come to realize none of those things really matter. I know my husband loves me, and I am content to just spend time with him.

Our wedding anniversary is also on February 19th so we usually don't really do much for Valentine's Day or our anniversary. We will make plans to take a small trip, maybe just a long weekend to someplace we both decide on, and that trip may or may not be close to Valentine's Day or our anniversary.

This year, we have both become really tired of the winter drearys so we decided that we would not take a trip until the first part of April because we want to go someplace where it will be warmer and that we can enjoy that warmth. This year we will be going to Las Vegas. Not sure what we will do while we are there since we were just there last year for the Nascar race, but it doesn't really matter because we just enjoy being together.

We're neither one big of special meals so we'll probably eat the same way we normally do.

The gift will be the trip itself.

As for the perfect Valentine's day, next year will be something totally different, but if we do go someplace we will both look for someplace where the sun is shining.

quote for the day

The only reason we hold back is because we think we have an endless amount of chances or that there will always be one more, but as time disappears into the past and life goes on, those chances will run out and you’ll either live with eternal happiness for being brave, or eternal regret for holding back.

Barb, i agree with you. When Ray was alive. The only thing that mattered to me was spending time with him. We normally went to a movie and dinner out for Valentine's Day.

Yeah, we too get tired of the cold wintry grey skies. I agree that as long as you are with the person you love and can go somewhere where the sun is shining is all that really matters. I hope you enjoy your trip to Las Vegas!

I am with you! We don't really celebrate the holidays either. A nice long weekend away is just the ticket. When I was working, we used to go to Palm Springs and enjoy the warm weather and sunshine at the pool. Never around Valentine's Day though, I was usually gone the entire month of February. We would normally go one weekend in April once the weather was stable.
