Saw the infectious disease doctor today who's handling my histoplasmosis. My meds levels in my blood are high enough to be effective (it's hard to rid the body of fungus). In two months we check the levels of histoplasmosis in my body (urine test) and hopefully the numbers will be good so I don't have to increase the meds! They are causing minor side effects, but those would get worse if the meds were increased (minor fluid retention and migraines are two I'm having problems with). She thinks the levels will be good, since I've improved so much.
I did get a migraine before my appt with her. Starts with the visual aura, but never really goes into a full blown headache, luckily. Just feels like there's a headache waiting to come out. I can live with that! As I said I had two of these migraines in Jan. and one today. I used to get one a year when I was younger. The last ten years I've gotten bad headaches but no aura (a bad headache is when tylenol or ibuprofen doesn't cut the pain).
Not much physical activity today. I spent the morning at my computer desk, made four appts, and worked on putting my to do list on my iPad and iPhone. I'm using the Home Routines app for now, after considering several others. I've had the app, but haven't used it much, but a few years back they added the ability to sync to your account online. I like that since I prefer typing when I have a long list. So I need to get in the habit of checking Home Routines every day. I set it up a few years back with the household chores via FlyLady, adapted to my situation, so that should help get me on track around the house, too.
Menu planning has been a tough one. DH doesn't eat what I cook unless it has ground beef and has no: onions, mushrooms, etc. He's picky. And he is just as happy to fix a bowl of soup, a sandwich, or a bowl of cereal for supper. So I'm basically cooking for myself, as I refuse to eat ground beef every day of the week! I'll make something for him, last week it was meatloaf, but the rest of the time I'm cooking just for me.
I looked for an app that would be easy to use and help me plan meals. Menu Planner is the one. It syncs to your free online account! I think the app cost something, but it's worth it. You can go to many websites and download recipes. I went to AllRecipes.com and it downloaded ones I had saved there. It also downloads from Spark Recipes!!!! After downloadind or uploading, or whatever, you can change the recipe (ingredients, etc before saving). And you can type in your own recipes.
It will make grocery lists from the recipes you put on the planning calendar (I haven't gotten that far, yet.) It keeps track of your pantry (I haven't used that yet, but I'll get in there tomorrow or this weekend and take stock of my supplies). That should be helpful!
So some useful tools as I restructure my life and work on getting healthy!
