I have fussed on here more than once about site ads that are intrusive or inappropriate, so it's only just to comment when I see an advertiser that is repeatedly upbeat, pleasing to the eye, and non-fattening.
A clothing company, Title Nine, has been appearing on my pages most days. The photos show active, happy women in cheerful, moderate sports clothes.
On the same message board I have used to register complaints, I posted a thanks:
"I appreciate the choice of advertiser Title Nine. The ads have positive images of healthy women who are affirming role models. They are upbeat and cheerful. I am grateful to see ads that fit the beneficial theme of this community."
I like it that the women in the ads are DOING THINGS. They're not just selling clothes by lounging around as if being on display as an object of desire (or jealousy) was the typical occupation of females. The ads (and catalog) show women with all kinds of recreation, and pushing strollers, and gardening, and active jobs. My favorite aspect is that NO DESSERTS are displayed.
No way can I afford what they sell** but I'm just glad for an advertiser that doesn't interfere with the Spark experience. And usually even makes me smile.
** except the industrial-strength sports bra, but that's an investment.
