Still sinning,

Thursday, February 14, 2013

as in archery (missing the mark) as opposed to endangering my hereafter (that's for a huge confessional time in a different forum : )

The mark was 145 lb by today. Missed it. I'm still hovering around 150.

Gotta get me a whole new quiver full of bolts and develop a much steadier hand and eye.
Gotta quit wavering and instead keep the target firmly in my sights.
Gotta believe the Nutrition Tracker when it says I've over-caloried or 0ver-fatted or over-salted on a given day; gotta keep my dates with the Fitness Tracker.

It's not rocket science, it's *only* archery. I can do this.

You know I was thinking today that I haven't reached my goal yet (and I will - mark my words) but I'm really happy to be "traveling by this spot on the journey" down to where I'm headed. I mean if I hadn't done anything I would still weigh 223 or probably even more. I picked up a 40 lb. kettel ball at the gym today and thought man I used to carry this much extra weight with me all the time! - no wonder I felt miserable. So I weigh 185. Now that's not 175 where I intend to get to ASAP but it is mighty good to be here for now. I look in the mirror and think, "you know I like the progress I see even though I hope to see even more in the near future." So sinner? Good grief no, I'd call you a saint in progress - you are only five pounds from perfection!

How do you feel? Missing your self-defined mark is certainly okay since I understood your goal was improvement in your overall health and that certainly can't be measured by just one number! I'm just saying. emoticon

Better to endanger that broad understanding than the hereafter.

As I read this I kept hearing the dialog at the end of the first Star Wars movie:

"Stay on target, stay on target!"
