I constantly get the same question about my journey: “How in the heck do you survive on 20 grams of fat per day? I mean what do you eat?”
Quite a bit actually, I eat wonderfully and often.
The worst thing you can do is not eat! Trust me! You have to eat to lose weight.You just have to eat with a purpose. Its a formula.
ITS NOT just about calories or carbs or just fat. Its about understanding the chemistry of losing weight and balancing that with your body’s chemistry. The one week that I averaged 1400 calories instead of 1600 but 30 grams of fat instead of 20; I had no weightloss. I didnt gain but I stayed exactly the same weight.
MY BODY will burn off any carb you throw its way ( so I happily enjoy breads and pastas).
But a fat gram? HA!
Honey my body clutches a stray fat gram tighter than a wino holds his bottle on the corner. My body clings to fat like it’s an insecure girl in a one-sided, serious and committed relationship. My body stores fat with no shame. So I do not eat foods cooked in oils or butter. I stay away from nuts like the plague. And I have fallen in love with all types of whitefish and kicked salmon and fatty meats to the curb. I dont do whole dairy items…no milk…no cheese…and no eggs.
BUT!!!! I EAT so many wonderful things instead, and Im never hungry. Below is a typical day of food for me.
6oz of Chobani Black Cherry Greek Yogurt
Smart Ones pancakes and turkey sausage
410Calories; 6g of Fat
10:30 Snack: Large Apple with 2tbsp of honey
90 Calories; 0g of Fat
Subway 6 inch turkey on wheat with 1tbsp of fatfree Italian dressing and all the veggies I want.
280 Calories; 3.5g of Fat
2 cups of spring salad mix
1cup of plain tuna in water
2 boiled eggwhites
6 cherry tomatoes
2tbsp of fat free italian dressing
144 Calories; 2g of fat
6:30 pm Dinner:
3 shrimp tacos the recipe is here
361 Calories; 7.5g fat
1 cup Fat free key lime frozen yogurt
260 calories; 0g fat
Daily total 1545 Calories; 19g fat
That’s Good Stuff!!!!! Again this what works for Me! Listen to your body…track everything you eat..and find your fitness formula!
