Day 2: The Scale Final Moved in the Right Direction

This morning I felt a tremendous victory in my heart, I lost .5 lbs. This may be a loss in water weight, or maybe... just maybe... low carb eating just works for me.

Yesterday, I decided to be proactive and try a different approach to being well and getting smaller. After 5 weeks (the post-January 1st promise I made to myself) of getting back to using the tools on SparkPeople, I gained 2.5 lbs. So instead of moping around about it, I just changed my focus to low carb.

I ate well yesterday. In fact, I haven't felt that full since before January 1st. I ate a particularly great dinner- steak with a shallot, mushroom, and cream sauce. I don't have the "Induction Flu" symptoms. In fact, I have more energy and I'm not hungry between meals.

Maybe I truly don't tolerate sugar (carbohydrates). Maybe meats, healthy fats, leafy vegetables, and dairy will be on my perma-menu. Maybe, just maybe, I've finally figured out my body. There's a glimmer of hope here that maybe I can finally be a healthy weight and be comfortable in my own skin!

    I'm so excited for you! Every little it lost is a victory. I need to get back on your bandwagon! By the way, I have a TON of cookbook and book suggestions. Let me know if you want them! YAY!

    I can tell you this much - even if I never lost another ounce on low carb I'd keep doing it because I feel so good. My health numbers are excellent and I have way more energy than I used to. (No feeling like taking a nap in the middle of the afternoon!)
