Here is my recipe for making homemade salsa:
First you will need 7 ingredients--8 if you count the chips.
1 bundle of Cilantro
2 cans of petite diced tomatoes
1 Red onion
2 tsp. salt
First, open the cans of tomatoes and put them in a bowl.
Next, cut the red onion in small, diced pieces and place them in the bowl.
The jalapeņo is next. You can add more or less depending on how spicy you would like it. Just dice it up the best you can.
Break off a small handful of the cilantro from the bundle. Make sure to rinse it in some water first, then cut it up. It may be difficult to get it in small pieces. A blender or a food processor can be used to break it up.
Cut open the avocado and gut out the insides. You really only need half the avocado, but I like to add the whole thing. This ingredient can be adjusted to taste.
The lime is next. I just cut the lime up and juice the slices. I use about half the lime. Make sure not to get seeds in the bowl.
Finally, the salt is added. This can also be adjusted to taste. Mix all the ingredients together and taste.
I sometimes use a blender to get more of a puree texture. But it is up to you.
