Dot's Hand Progress

I want to wish you all a very Happy Valentines Day. Hope that you all can enjoy it fully.

Because I have been having a hard time to sleep I took my sleeping pill early last night and went to bed around 8:30 PM. I did finally fall asleep, but around midnight I woke up and went to the bathroom and went back to bed. At 4:00 am I was wide awake and so I got up and have been up ever since. At least I did get some good sleep.

My hand is still paining me but I think it is starting to lessen up. When I don't try to use it or move it, it is ok, but when I go to the bathroom I have to use my four fingers on that hand to pull my underwear up. You would be surprised to know how much you depend on your left hand for. Scott is helping me out really good. Sometimes I try to do a few small things that I think I can do. But when I do those stupid things I get more pain. I am trying not to be a bad girl but sometimes I am. I pay the price though.

My appointment with my foot doctor yesterday went fine. He took an x-ray of my foot to make sure that all the bones were still ok, and they were. I also had him cut my toenails on my right foot. I have to go back and see him in 3 months.

Our weather yesterday was beautiful. The temps were in the 40's, and the sun was shining. I rolled down my car window because it was so nice. Today is the same way. I think it is going to start and get colder again on Saturday I think. I hope that you are having good weather too.

I think that we were going to get some minor snow flurries during the weekend but no big storms.

I am praying that everyone is doing ok and those that aren't will get extra prayers. You are all such wonderful friends. I am very lucky to have you all. I do miss you all deeply. Hopefully I will be able to come back posting to the individual teams soon.

It sounds like your doing good with your hand. You should be having less & less pain each day. I hope that it will be less and less anyway. If your having problems with more pain everyday, I would say, you need to tell your doctor about it.

You take care of your self. All of us are here for you. Don't forget that, ok?

DOT I WROTE ON THE PREVIOUS BLOG I HOPE YOU CAN USE THAT TIP from me.

I did do another walk today on the rail trail.

if you look at coach Nicoles videos you will see her doing cardio in a chair.
All you have to do is sit is a chair like a kitchen chair no wheels or arms works best it does not matter if the arms are there right now.
Try to sit up straight and not lean back.
tuck in your belly and at first just sit there with feet on ground,

Next carefully lift one foot off the floor put it down lift the other just a little bit at first. No hurting yourself JUST LIKE WALKING IN PLACE.
Try just a few steps 10 or 50 whatever if you want to do more ok but do just a few minutes at a time off and on during your day.
The next day do A FEW MORE , when you can do 100 then you can do it to music.

Eventually when you feel ready you can lift the feet a little higher. If you feel you cannot do this to help the muscles get used to walking just do less but that way the leg muscles will be getting good exercise for when you are ready to walk in place standing up.
