I've upped my walking to 40 minutes per day, pain permitting.

I never thought I'd be one of the those pain-permitting people. But, man, my feet & knee & hip are so painful that sometimes I just have to listen to my body and take a rest.

Not that it's bad to be a pain-permitting person, but I just never thought my strength would be so deteriorated that I would have so much pain. It's the ignorance of youth, which I no longer have.

But, on a good note, 40 minutes is getting easier. I use dumbells for bicep curls, tricep presses, & shoulder raises while I walk. Adding the weights really gets my heart pumping and makes me breathe harder, so I know it's working my cardio. But, it's getting easier to go for 40 minutes, instead of 30.

Of course, it also helps that the show I watch while I walk is 42 minutes long. Most days, this helps me stay motivated to keep going. If I want to watch the show, I have to walk - that's the rule. It helps on most days.

    Great work!!! You are moving, which is fantastic! Sorry to hear about the pain, but I certainly understand it. I'm 42 and feeling some aches and stiffness I never could have imagined. If I don't get healthy now, 43 and the upcoming years (God willing) will be that much harder.

I like the idea of using weights while you walk. I might have to use that tip...

You and I have about the same amount of weight to lose. Stick with it and let's feel some success!!
