I was awakened by a cramp in my upper calf, almost alongside my knee toward the back. I've had calf cramps a lot in my life but this one was different. Fortunately it wasn't as intense as some I've had but it still got me out of bed like a shot. I took a long hot shower and then sat and stretched as much as I could without triggering the spasms again. I was able to get back to sleep for about an hour but it was a fitful sleep because I had overslept the day before and I did not want to be late for work two days in a row.
I know I'm drinking enough water. I fill my 32 oz water bottle at least four times a day plus I'm drinking at least two cups of hot tea with lemon every day not even counting the water content in the whole fruits and vegetables I am eating daily. I haven't started my exercise routine yet; my plan was to start working on the new ball I got last weekend but I was kind of sick so I didn't do much of anything besides cook meals etc for the week.
I went to the grocery store last night and picked up some stuff I need to bake the blueberry flaxseed muffins that were on the recipe page yesterday. I'm also going to get some bread in the oven as my loaf of Ezekiel bread is more than half gone now. I bought frozen chicken breasts and I'm going to do my chicken and bean stew base but this time I think I'll use more red kidney beans and extra heat and make it more like chicken chili with some chopped onion, tomatoes and green pepper. Chili powder has too much sodium but the lady at the spice store suggested I use some anchos and paprika in place of the chili powder. I like heat but not so much that you can't taste the stuff you're cooking.
