I've been blessed to know some very beautiful people.
I'm not speaking of societies definition of beauty, the false flash and glamour that is standardized beauty.
I'm talking here about the internal spark and truth that has nothing to do with how one looks on the outside.
I'm talking about people who are not caught up in possessions or the acquistion of such or of using other people to get what they want.
I'm talking about people who have an awareness of clarity to know exactly who they are, and if not, than at least have the courage to sit fully with thier whole self and are willing to share what they discover.
One of these people was my best friend.
He was a gay man that was demure, quite and full of life.
Neither of us had a life partner so we stuck tightly together.
We talked, shopped, laughed, saw shows, ate dinner and kept each others secrets. He passed away on New Years day 2011.
My only daughter is an artist.
She went to art school and was ostracized because her creativity did not fit into the defined boxes as required. She left school, created her own t-shirt line and created a website to sell them on. She has not sold many t-shirts. She has not given up on her dream. Hand sketching the details of all her ideas, feeling alive when she pulls them together. Sewing every single piece of clothing by hand using deconstructed finds that she buys from the thrift store.
One of my SparkFriends sends me the most uplifting emails I have ever received in my entire life. I believe he saw in me a kinship that far out weighs the appearance of differences and he was not afraid to reach out to me. He introduced me to a book that opened up my spiritual awareness and changed my life when I was suffering emotionally. He offers me everything that matters and asks for nothing in return.
A super talented, upwardly mobile young woman who works in my office building is leaving her financially secure career at the end of this week.
She is traveling to Vietnam and Thailand because her soul needs space to breathe. She has no plans to return until it feels right to her soul.
Beautiful people expand the world with their bravery, courage, honesty and willingness to be vulnerable. They listen to the voice of their own soul and put compassion and spiritual satisfaction before people pleasing. They love honestly and unconditionally. They give without taking and show up when and where ever they are needed. The practice and celebrate daily love. These people are the true romantics of the world, the light bearers, the peace bringers, the hope givers. They are the deep well of love that makes me know that we are all connected and I am grateful.
