I Won't Allow "What If"

Thursday, February 14, 2013

Yesterday, I cleared away clothing (that is now too big) to put out for pickup today by a local charity. I've done this throughout my four years in this healthy lifestyle change, but this time, a small nagging thought started to creep in. "What if you need this larger size someday?"

I banished it immediately. This has been the first time in my life that I was overweight (hormones, overwork, less exercise, stress, and yes, over eating), and I never want to go through this again. Unless someone takes a bike tire pump and fills me with air like a Macy's parade balloon, I will not let myself gain weight again. Period. End of story.

Happy Valentine's Day. While you're busy loving others, don't forget to save a bit for yourself.

Fantastic will never go back to nasty lifestyle habits! NEVER! I LOVE Dr. Oz...did you see his recent program on how the big foodies actually addict us through fat, salt, and eye popper for sure! emoticon And THIS is how they make their money...killing people..must feel good to sleep at night!

Snarky smile! emoticon Of course we DON'T have to buy it! emoticon We just need to know their dirty little secrets! emoticon emoticon

Good for you. It's too hard to get it back off to go through this again.

Keeping 'fat' clothes around is not a good idea. It gives us room for complacency! If my clothes start to feel tight it is time to get back on track not look in the closet for my 'fat' clothes. Great decision!

Yup, I need to be gathering up more stuff myself! I have a couple of pairs of jeans that are now slightly too big & yes, I find myself reluctant to get rid of them . . . But I also know you need to be vigilant & act as soon as things get uncomfortable so that your clothes keep fitting!

Good for you having positive thoughts. My advise to you is to constantly watch and work your plan. Sometimes we take it easy and little by little the weight can creep back on . Being aware of that is very important. The very best to you. Sparks is an awesome place to learn and grow in knowledge of working our health and weight journey.

good blog i just read somewhere that if you have a bad thought write it down then throw it out . it is supposed to banish bad thoughts for good. and if you have a good thought you write it down and put it in your pocket to save.

    Yay for banishing self-doubt!

This is my plan, as soon as I lose enough weight to banish clothes I will be doing it.

Did you keep one or two pairs of pants ? When I cleared out my closets I kept a couple of pairs of my largest sized pants. I figured one day I would do a "James Coco" before/after type photo.

And well, even though I don't ever plan on wearing size 16/18 pants again, keeping them around reminds me how far I've come since last wearing them.

I think it may be time for me to go through my closets.
