six months of maintenance!

Thursday, February 14, 2013

and now it is six months. the lifestyle right now makes it almost easy - we don't have a car, so we walk. and walk - and walk! the beach is two miles away, so any walk is four miles long to start with; add the walk on the beach and the morning walk is easily up to six or seven miles before you know it. and the evening walk, after work, coincides with the sunset; sometimes we head to the beach again, but others just a walk around the neighborhood - but that is two or three or four miles too - which rounds the day off, usually around nine miles. and when you live at the top of a steep hill, the strength builds day by day, twice a day.

you can't beat a healthy lifestyle... friends invited us to ride to town for a shopping excursion today, so we'll stock up once again on beautiful fruits and veggies to carry us through the next week. life is good...

I love that the key to maintenance is surrounding yourself with healthy choices in a beautiful place! We all have to create the environment that supports and nourishes us and it sounds like you really have!

And my best personal trainer is my dog too - her name is Isis and we actually got her at the animal shelter in Oahu many years ago when we lived in Aiea. She's 9 years old now and can still out run me. And if she doesn't get her exercise, she makes sure to come up and poke me until I get out and do SOMETHING with her!

Oh, so that's how maintenance is "almost easy" - living in Hawaii. If I read much more of your wonderful situation, you might find me on your doorstep. LOL

Seriously though, where we live does make a difference, doesn't it.
People have to drive out here in the country. The roads without shoulders are just too dangerous.
