BORING!

My family has always teased me for being ridiculously quick to become bored! They joke about having to tell stories quickly and keep them entertaining or I'll space out....My easily-boredness (yes, that word is my very own creation) really comes out on road trips. I give my preschooler a run for his money when it comes to the number of times one of us asks "are we there yet?!?" It's a wonder my husband takes me anywhere!
This also becomes a problem when I am trying to create a new healthy habit. You see, the ideas is to be consistent in exercising most days...and I'm all gung ho for a few weeks, then I get bored...
Fortunately, I know this about myself. I am learning that I cannot decide to become a runner, or a Zumba expert or whatever, because I can only stand to do the same activity for a week or so. So far I've been good at mixing up my cardio. Right now I have to workout in my living room, because that is what my schedule and childcare allow. I enjoy workout videos, I just make sure I buy a new one every couple of weeks and borrow some from the library so I have lots of choices.
However, regular strength training is new to me and I've been following the exercises in a book I got. They change slightly every couple of weeks but are really just variations on the same exercises. Well, I decided this morning I am bored to death with them and am on the verge of scrapping strength training all together!....I won't though! I was excited to see the workout generator on this website! Yay! I was able to tell it I want to use my dumbells but I could skip that stinking balance ball thing that I'm so tired of!
So, here's my tentative plan:
Monday : 30 min. Cardio
Sparkpeople dumbells workout
Up and down stairs 10 times in evening
Tuesday : 40 min. Cardio
Up and down stairs 10 times in evening
Wednesday : 30 min. Cardio
Sparkpeople dumbells workout
Up and down stairs 10 times in evening
Thursday : 30 min. Cardio interval training
Up and down stairs 10 times in evening
Friday : 30 min. Cardio
Sparkpeople dumbells workout
Up and down stairs 10 times in evening
