So Sad=Bum Knee

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

I went to work out yesterday and my left knee felt strange. I stopped doing the leg extension because it hurt. By the time I got home it started to swell. I have been putting ice on for 20 minutes every 2 hours. Taking Advil, elevating it.
I wasn't able to do cardio today. My knee is swollen, sore and doesn't like much weight on it. I am going to continue my current treatment for a couple of days. Then I call the Doc if it is not improving.
I have been extra careful with my knees, trying to avoid injury. My genetics are not on my side. But I haven't had a fall or a twist or anything I can put my finger on. My worst enemy is having to sit so much during the day.
I'll have to see how swimming makes it feel. emoticon

So sorry to read this! I really hope it improves. But seeing the doctor might be a good idea, just to be on the safe side.

sounds like what my mother in law did last week, strain her knee. she went to her ortho who put her on special exercises, soaking the knee in the epsom salts and elevation, even at night emoticon

I hope you find a solution that heals your knee. Sometimes these things happen without ANY thing happening - when my knees first went out, I went to bed one night after swimming and working out and woke up barely able to walk and in GREAT and constant pain. I literally did NOTHING to trigger it but there it was - and worst part was the stupid doctor told me that at MY AGE and weight it shouldn't surprise me that since I was old and fat, no wonder I had arthritis - hey, I was old and fat the day before and didn't have it, what's up with that? Seriously, I hope whatever your knee problem it is a quick and easy fix for you.
