Once again, my daily SparkCoach challenge, coupled with my goal of 500 monthly fitness minutes, got me off my butt today! In between jobs today, I decided to get in 10 minutes of informal, low-impact aerobics, so I did a little Leslie Sansone-Chris Freytag-Amy Dixon mash-up while catching up on a little Barefoot Contessa (I am a Food Network JUNKIE). My SparkCoach challenge today was to do at least 60 minutes of high intensity exercise during my normal workout, so I did a 90 second jog. That doesn't sound like much, but you must realize that I am not a jogger. I walk fast and do aerobics, but I haven't progressed to jogging yet. So that 90 seconds of jogging was not only challenging; it was encouraging. I didn't even know that I COULD jog for 90 seconds. Go, me!
I felt pretty good after that, so I did 25 full jumping jacks. I normally do modified jacks, but the mini jog had me so pumped up that I ripped out those jacks like a boss.
