I agree with steph, but the shakes may help to force you to stop eating at least if you did one for breakfast...BUT I don't think you need to buy the vi shake kit because you may be losing your job soon! So use the leftovers to get your little oomph you need and stick to eating only veggies fruits and meats all minimally processed! You can do this! I am queen stress eater and I know you have to get into the right mind set to get going again and I will pray that you do!
I sooo understand where you are coming from. I have tried many different weight loss programs, you name it, I tried it! Luckily, I have a good friend who is a fitness instructor (which could either be the biggest blessing or the biggest curse at times! LoL) who taught me some valuable things those weight loss programs didn't. To kick off my weight loss journey, I did a 10 day cleanse, which was really just eating super basic minimally processed healthy foods. I'm not going to lie, it was hard! The first couple days were easy, it was new and exciting. By the 4th day, God knows I wanted to take down a whole bakery! LoL But by the end, I actually started to WANT the healthy foods and an apple was like a God send! Then for two weeks I was introduced to different healthy foods. After 24 days, a lot of bad habits were broken and I formed some good new ones. I would definitely recommend this. It was seriously the only thing that actually helped changed my horrible habits.
For workouts, I use a variety of videos... I like The Biggest Loser workouts, Denise Austin or Billy Blanks. Some actually have different levels and changes as you go. I've also seen some workout videos on Sparkpeople.
I hope that helped a little, maybe some new ideas. :) Hang in there, it's tough but you can do it! Just remember, it's not about perfection... it's about progress.
I totally agree with Steph-Nee but the reason I think the shake plan for a couple of months is a good idea is that you will lose, start to feel better and not depressed for not losing. I know someone who was on this kind of plan years ago. It was a little harder when she got off like Steph-Nee said adjusting to eating sensible but she did keep the weight off and figured out a eating plan for herself so the shakes was a good motivator for her.
I will tell you this, and I say this out of PURE LOVE and not jerkiness, because I think you are adorable and I see a lot of you in me... so this is said with love and I hope you can read it with that tone... But redecorating your board is not going to make you lose weight. I say this because I have motivational quotes plastered in my house, I have weight loss marble jars, I have a woohoo jar, I have a planner with heart stickers when I exercise and cupcake stickers when I overeat, and none of this makes me lose any weight. Half the time I forget to move my marbles, or don't read the quotes etc.
What is going to make you lose weight is calories in calories out. Stop spending so much time trying all these different weight loss plans. The Vi shakes will help you in the short term, you will lose weight, what is your plan after? If you go back to how you are eating you will gain. If you eat what you want in moderation and track calories you can sustain that for a lifetime and not worry about transitioning to the "real world" when you are done losing weight. If you plan to live on shakes for one to two meals a day for the rest of your life then it's a great plan, but if that's not in the cards for you it will most likely hurt you in the long run. I only say that because I've done that yo yo thing with nutrisystem, jenny craig and slimfast in the past, it always ended the same and it wasn't pretty. I think you are you a strong woman, and I think if you can finally commit to one day at a time you will get it done, but I really think you constantly trying to find a "plan" is just holding you back. Just get it done, it doesn't matter how you get it done, just do it. Again, this is all said with love, I want to see you succeed, I want to see you get to where you want to get, and I want to be here the day you tell us all you and your husband are expecting a baby because you deserve an amazing family.
I never heard of the program you want to buy but if all they provide is shakes you can try it on your own. Just google what nutrients you would need to put in it to replace two meals a day and then have a sensible dinner just like you would do with the 300 dollar kit.
I understand that sometimes it's easier to go without food as it just wants us to eat more. That can be a problem for me that something tastes so good I just want more even though I am getting full. That is why I have to keep trigger foods far away from my house.
I hope things get better for you.Like everyone said you have some good and bad days and even weeks. Don't give up, keep reminding yourself why you started. Sending a big smile and virtual hug your way.
Keep a positive attitude! No one is perfect and everyone WILL have days where they cheat and get off the horse. You just gotta get back on! Just remember that this will be a slow process, and you have to accept that. Don't make major changes too fast or you'll set yourself up for failure. Start with small changes, and gradually make one or two small changes every week.
Also snacking during the day is not bad. Just eat the right snacks. Keep around apples, lowfat yogart, kale chips, peanuts, etc. Keep pre-portioned snacks near you. If you are stress eating, if you keep healthy choices around, and don't allow bad foods into your house, then it won't matter if you stress eat, because it will be healthy snacks.
Have you tried just searching on YouTube for workouts? You don't have to go buy something expensive. Just find a couple 10-20 minute workouts. Create your own playlist of your favorites. There are also workouts on TV every morning, so maybe you can just record them and do them when you have time. There are also a lot of workout ideas on spark people.
Good luck with your journey. Accept that some days motivation will be down, but try to remember why you want to lose weight and keep your end goal in mind! :-)
I just want to give you a big bear hug right now! I am sorry that you are having such a rough time. I am blessed because I have a beautiful niece who needs me and I am trying to lead by example. That is my motivation to stick with the eating. Although, I will admit to you that I failed miserably this week end. But I got back on track and am going forward.
The truth of the matter is that you have to allow yourself some room for mistakes. They are going to happen. And that should be your expectation. That in and of itself doesn't mean that you failed. The only time you fail is when you quit trying. I sure hope you don't give up on Spark because I know that it will help you if you take it just one step at a time. Slow and steady wins the race. I know that it's discouraging when you see a weight gain but when you do see something like that try to focus on the things you are doing right instead. This weightloss journey does not have to be the elephant in the room. You can do this! It is within you.
The 4 things I learned before I started with this was first of all to allow myself the room to make mistakes. Second, to love me enough to not give up, Third to try not to obsess about every little thing I put in my mouth. For me, it's important to have a mess up day. It lessens the feeling of making a mistake. The other thing that I had to do was slow down and think. When I got stressed out and before I put a piece of food in my mouth - I promised myself I would take 10 minutes and think about what I was doing and why then replace the eathing with a different activity. Even if it is just reading or writing.
Hugs to you across the miles and I'm praying that you have a better rest of the week and a most spectacular Valentine's Day!
Goals and posters an that stuff doesnt really work for me either. I tend to want to start them and when I do i do it for a little while. I cant stick with it because i feel like if i didnt meat my goal or i forgot to write something in i failed at it so i just give up on dieting and the goals. So I just dont make any goals or posters or anything and just focus on my eating with nothing attached to it. you dont even have to work out when you dont want to. just eat healthy. dont add anything extra onto that. no pressure at all. instead of getting 10 piece chicken nugget go for a 4 or 6 piece and a salad or apple slices. or a small fry. if you eat chinese eat half of what you would normally eat or 1/3 of it. small steps will bring you to a bigger one. just take it slow. i have finally gotten my eating habbit under control and it took me 8 months. now i am incorporating exercise into my routine. I am still struggling with that but it takes time.
