Since a huge part of my focus through this weight loss journey is being kinder to myself and treating myself with love, this week's blog challenge is kind of perfect. It also doesn't hurt that tomorrow's Valentine's Day. So without further ado, the first part of my top 10 list of things I like about myself:
~ TEN ~
I'm a positive, optimistic person. I generally expect the best of others and work hard to find the good in all situations. I truly believe that there's a silver lining to every cloud, so to speak, and am good at focusing on that rather than on the bad.
~ NINE ~
I'm a fantastic friend. I'm fiercely loyal, and I'm usually the person that my friends come to for advice. I've had more than one friend refer to me as her rock, and I am proud that I can offer so much to those I care about.
~ EIGHT ~
I'm open-minded and accepting of others. I truly believe that it is not my place to judge others, and I work hard not to. As a result, I have close friends who are VERY different from each other and have gotten to know all kinds of different people because they feel comfortable with me.
~ SEVEN ~
I'm smart and a critical consumer of information. I'm good at questioning and researching and refusing to take information at face value. I love to learn and read, and I appreciate that I have the ability to gain new knowledge quickly.
~ SIX ~
I'm a good daughter to my parents, sister to my siblings, and partner to my fiance. I certainly feel a sense of duty to my family, but more than that I feel a sense of overwhelming love and gratefulness to them. I am beyond fortunate to have the family I do, and I work hard to show them how appreciative I am of the love they have given me and the opportunities they have afforded me. I also work hard on my relationship with my fiance, focusing on not getting complacent with him and trying to ensure that I am as positive, kind, and appreciative with him as possible. When we do have fights, I love that we try hard to have rational discussions and be constructive, rather than destructive, when we argue.
And with that, the first 5 of my top 10 things I love about myself! Tomorrow, I'll post my top 5 in a sort of Valentine to me!
