Week 3- 8.5 Pounds down

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

I have been sparking for 3 weeks now. I have lost a total of 8.5 pounds. Really awesome, feeling good. Been tracking and staying under my calories. I have allowed my self to go over once or twice on the weekends, which I have found helps to not feel deprived.

My goal calories are between 1300-1600. Which through eating healthy, is a very full diet. I have been cooking almost every night, which my family loves. I have found tricks to lessen calories of foods and we even had a tv dinner night and I stayed under my goals. I had a Hungry Man- Turkey dinner, which is about 450 calories and a pound of food. It was filling. Making healthy hamburger helper is an easy dinner too. Use either ground turkey, lean beef, cut the milk in half, and leave out the butter. It tastes the same really.

I am really building eating habits that I can stick with. And I budget calories for snacking at night. I generally leave 200-300 calories, even though I don't use them every night, for snacking. Like last night I have a 1/2 cup of cookies and cream ice cream and some mini rice cakes, while still staying under my calories.

My RA is still flaring up but I am going to see the rheumatologist soon to hopefully kick it down a notch. Have a funny story.....I had to have an MRI on my knee the other day. For those who don't know, an MRI is like a muscle and tendon x-ray. They put you in this tube, that is very loud like a jack hammer, it is like being in a coffin. A very loud scary coffin with lasers in it. It sucks. Well fortunately My head was out side the tube this time. They gave me a set of headphones and said we are gona start the test now. The machine turned on and the music came. The first song was FREAK OUT, you know that disco song....The second song was BLINDED BY THE LIGHT......reved up like a duce in the somethin night.... Who ever chose their music selection, not funny. Cause really it is a rather scary procedure, Being straped to a table inside a giant tube. Anyway, I thought it was funny to share.

Heres a face shot.

Much Love Everyone.

Elisabeth, do you have a family member named Kimber that lives in Jacksonville, FL? You look just like her! I swear I see it every time I see your picture! And you look so happy and jazzed! I love it!

Congrats on the poundage lost. That is fabulous work, and you are right about making things healthy ways. You cannot make a lifestyle change if you aren't changingthe way you cook too. It just doesn't happen. And now your entire family will be reaping the benefits of your successs as well.

Proud, proud, proud of you!

Hugs and love, Ang
