Spring is Coming

We have been very fortunate to have had beautiful weather the last couple of weeks - the sun has been shining, the snow is melting, the temperatures are well above seasonal. What a difference it makes. I'm not sure if many others are as influenced by weather as I am when it comes to eating and exercising, but it has a huge impact on how successful I am with my program. Most Februarys are dark, cold, and dreary - so too is my mood. I tend to not go out but stay huddled in my house in a million layers trying to stay warm, I tend to eat way more than I should of those heavy carb loaded meals, and it's tough to get motivated to exercise - well even to just get out of bed is a challenge. So, I cope by remembering that spring is coming closer each day we mark off the calendar in Feb - the day is a little bit longer, a little bit warmer....knowing that the long dark winter is coming to an end really helps keep me motivated to stay on my program and keep moving forward. It puts a spring in my step!
