Yes, I AM interested in your day!!!!

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Ok I haven't blogged or posted much lately and have been kindof blah emoticon

I've noticed that other blogging and posting activities have fallen off too~. How did I notice? Well, because when I'm feeling kind of needy or very happy or bored or something emoticon I check out SP to read what others are doing/thinking/saying.

I've been thinking that I don't have much to say or contribute these days, so my fingers have been wrapped around my tea mug instead of flying on my keyboard. emoticon

I'm writing these thoughts because I've decided to comment as much as I can on other posts because I know how much I APPRECIATE when others comment, blog and post!!

I've been thinking alot about my favorite aunt that passed in Nov. Why was she my favorite? Many reasons, but primarily because she was INTERESTED in my life. She would always ask me about the 'mundane details' of my day like what I ate for breakfast, what was I making for dinner, how was I feeling (tired, bored, happy, sad, jazzed) and what was going on that made me feel that way. We would chat about my stuff and also about her stuff. Daily detail stuff. I've sorely missed this sharing!!!

Some blockers for me from blogging, posting, commenting was thinking I really had nothing epic to share- no lightning bolt learning or ah hah moment or major failing. Nothing anyone would be interested in.

Dear Sparkfriends, I want to let you know that I AM INTERESTED in how you are doing, what's going on in your day- both the good and not-so-good. Please share!

great blog! I agree, the small details are interesting. I know I've gotten many successful ideas from people who may feel like they are just reporting on something that is routine or mundane for them. I love having the Spark community to check in, stay motivated, get encouragement and just hang out.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved aunt. How wonderful that she was such an important part of your life. I hope your beautiful memories get you through the tough, blah days. I lost a beloved aunt as well. Sometimes, I have "conversations with her" by thinking of how she would respond or encourage me if she were still here.

I thank you for being interested in what we have to share. You are right in saying that there are times when we haven't much to contribute. BUT...whatever you and I have to say no matter how trivial or what we perceive as mundane may be important to others.
There are times when I am in conversations with others that I feel that my input is not worth hearing because I am talked over, people don't seem interested, or they think their topic is of most importance. So I just keep quiet and do not contribute. It's their loss because I really thought that what I wanted to share was beneficial to all.
Your aunt was right on the mark. She listened as you shared your day with her.
Listening, hearing, caring are so important today.
Thank you.
