woo hoo...one pound under goal

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Being really good is paying off. I am 109 which is one pound under goal....so a little room for Valentines Day if we decide to go out. Lucky for me yesterday, DH didn't mention going out to eat after running errands. Part of our errands included going to the bank off the main square in our village.........both DH and I forgot that it was Fat Tuesday and found ourselves in the middle of a parade and festivities where plenty of white flour is thrown at people....not sure what the significance of that is but it is funny to see everyone covered in white flour. And since most Mexicans have the really dark hair it is funny looking. I managed to get a few photos.
Hope all my sparks buddies are doing great.
Make it a terrific day!
Sallie

Great job! Thanks for posting the parade pics! We don't usually participate or attend the local events, but I think now that our granddaughter is getting older we will start!

Have a wonderful day today!

I saw those Polish Pastries are for sale, so I knew we were near lent. I guess if it's past Fat Tues we must be IN lent. Hmmmm. Congratulations on your weight loss~!

Sallie, I believe the white flour is a symbol of decadent foods that are usually consumed before Lent begins.
Nice pictures, thank you for sharing!

Too much fun! I was a good boy last night. As my hometown is N'Awlins and my sis was born there, we take it seriously. Since I've embraced the lifestyle, I still have a great time. (No King Cake this year!)

Thanks for sharing the awesome photos, Sallie!

emoticon being under goal!! You are doing great and now you have a little buffer for the upcoming outings.
Thank you for sharing your pictures. We didn't have any festivities in out town - they were all in the larger city of Guaymas. Interesting about the flour!
