Quick update and thanks for the condolances.

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Thank you to all those that sent me goodies and wishes and condolences for the passing of my father in law on Sunday. The hard part is that he was back in South Africa and we are so very far away ...in Canada!

The memorial service is set for Friday and I have been trying to organize a skype link so that the family here can partake of the service too! It think it is important. Not getting much co-operation from those that are there....( read: Frustration!!!) and so we are going to hire someone to do it!

So that means preparations to get the family here bright and early in the morning to view it. ( 7:30 am our time)

anyway, we will make it work somehow!

I have been trying really hard to increase my veggie content. Last night I had soup and yesterday, despite the cold, I had a salad for lunch.

I swam 2.7km on Monday night! I was sore on Tuesday, but I thought that might happen.

One day at a time!

I am having the family over for dinner tonight, so lots to do.

Thanks again for all the love and support!

I hope the Skype link gets sorted. You don't need the
extra pain right now. Enjoy your dinner with your family.
It is hard organising things on two continents. Blessings
to you and your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Mel, and also for the frustration with coordinating a shared experience in saying good-bye to your FIL. My condolences to you, your husband, and your whole family. Sending you all prayers for peace.

Sorry that the South African side are not being very co-operative about the Skype link up.
Last year my friend's family in New Zealand Skyped their Father's funeral service to a large gathering of us in Cape Town. Several of the Cape Town family - grandsons - read the Kiddush prayer for the dead, all the men participated in various parts of the service and my friend was able to connect emotionally with her sister in New Zealand. I was there to support my friend and it was a very moving experience - only the second Jewish funeral I have attended.

Big hugs again
